Four Jamaicans line up for Oslo Diamond League meeting
Four Jamaicans, including Olympic Games finalists Christopher Taylor and Natoya Goule-Toppin, will compete at today’s Oslo Diamond League Meeting to be held at the Bislett Stadium in Norway.
Taylor will line up in the 400m, Goule-Toppin in the women’s 800m, while former Olympic and World Champion Omar McLeod will contest the 110m hurdles and Danniel Thomas-Dodd take part in the women’s shot put.
Taylor, who has run the 400m twice so far this season, has a season’s best 45.45 seconds and will take on former Olympic champion Kirani James, Isaac Makwala of Botswana, Luguelin Santos of the Dominican Republic and Zakhiti Nene of South Africa.
Goule-Toppin ,who is coming off a seventh-place finish in Rome last week, will take on the British trio of Keely Hodgkinson, Jemma Reeikie and Laura Muir and France’s Renelle Lamote.
McLeod will be up against a strong field that includes American world leader Devon Allen who ran 12.84 seconds in New York, the third-fastest time ever, another American Aaron Mallett, France’s Wilhem Belocian and Rafael Pereira of Brazil.
Thomas-Dodd will go up against Americans Chase Ealy and Maggie Ewan, Portugal’s Auriol Dongmo and Canadian Sarah Mitton.
