The past year has seen Jahbar I clock overtime in recording studios working on his second album. Tomorrow, the roots singer is expected to showcase results from those sessions during Live Band Fridays at Bunny’s Seaside Kitchen, along Kingston’s Waterfront.

Unto Jah, Hold me Close and Loving Jah (with Luciano) are some of Jahbari’s latest songs, all produced by his father George “Dusty” Miller, drummer for The Firehouse Crew.

The tracks, he told the Jamaica Observer, reflect versatility and maturity.

“I’m really grateful to be releasing new projects as I continue doing music to my best. All songs are for different moods and vibes, so I would say they are all satisfying,” said Jahbar I. “My songwriting and live show performances improves and evolves with passion, practise and perseverance and I have been doing such, so the people can really continue to hear and see who and what Jahbar I is about.”

Being around The Firehouse Crew since childhood perked an early interest in music. Jahbar I began recording at age 16, in 2012, while still a student at Meadowbrook High School.

Since then, he has released a number of songs, produced mainly by his father. Jahbar I Deyah, his first album, was released in 2018. The following year he toured Europe with Junior Kelly, performing at major festivals including Reggae Jam in Germany.

Jahbar I also has songs on the Cruise In Riddim, a compilation album produced by The Firehouse Crew, scheduled for release today by VPAL Music. He shares the mic with Sizzla on A nuh Nutn and goes solo on Ancient Journey.
