Champions St Mary face St Elizabeth in 50-over quarter-finals

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – St Mary CA will continue the defence of their Jamaica Cricket Association 50-over title when they take on hosts St Elizabeth CA in Saturday’s quarter-final match at Manley Horne Park.

The St Mary outfit, which won the 50-over crown in 2019 when the competition was last held prior to the coronavirus pandemic, reached the quarter-finals after finishing second to Clarendon in Zone Two of the preliminary stage which started in May. St Elizabeth had topped Zone One.

In other matches on Saturday, Kensington CC welcome Westmoreland CA to Kensington Park in east Kingston, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) host St Thomas CA at Up Park Camp and Clarendon CA entertain Kingston CC at Port Esquivel in St Catherine.

St Thomas clinched a tight Zone Three because of a superior head-to-head record to second-place Kensington and third-place Lucas CC after all three were locked on 13 points.

Westmoreland were second to St Elizabeth in Zone One, while the JDF soldiers were second to Kingston in Zone Four.

National all-rounder Alwyn Williams of St Mary is the top batsman so far with an aggregate of 482 runs, while St Thomas player Kashane Roberts has the highest individual score of 180.
