Tishaine is ready for Sumfest
With Reggae Sumfest approaching (July 17-23) , the Jamaica Observer‘s entertainment section continues with the third in the series on key moments from the show leading to opening day.
At age 18, Tishaine has no fears about performing at Reggae Sumfest come July 22. The former Campion College student is looking forward to his biggest assignment to date.
“I always wanted to be on the Reggae Sumfest stage, because it is one of those shows that majority of the dancehall artistes that I look up to have performed at,” said the emerging artiste who is from West Kingston.
Vibes Right, produced by 3Kings Music Group, Active Badness (produced by Sonovic) and Changes (produced by Sponge Music) are some of the songs Tishaine has released over the past two years. The Zimi Records-produced Code, released in March, is his best-known song to date.
Tishaine told the Jamaica Observer‘s Splash that he is prepared for the Caribbean’s biggest music festival.
“I have been doing rehearsals and picking the right set of songs to perform for my supporters. The preparation has been going well and I can’t wait to share my talent with the world. Reggae Sumfest, here I come,” he said.
West Kingston has produced many notable names in Jamaican music including Ken Boothe, the Techniques, Stranger Cole, Frisco Kid, and Busy Signal.
Social media got Tishaine into the music business.
“I have been around music from a tender age and one day I decided to try and record myself on a phone and uploaded it to social media and the response was very positive. I started doing music professionally about two years ago when I linked up with 3Kings Music Group,” he disclosed.
