Charokee Young signs with Puma
Quarter-miler Charokee Young has signed with Puma, becoming the latest Jamaican runner to join the German apparel manufacturer’s roster of athletes.
Young made the announcement in a post to Instagram on Friday afternoon.
“So blessed to announce that I am the newest member of the PUMA Family. Cheers to new beginnings,” Young captioned a photo of herself holding a Puma spikes and wearing a branded jacket.
Young finished third at last month’s National Championships to qualify to represent Jamaica at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, which started on Friday.
She becomes the second Jamaican athlete to announce a Puma deal in as many days following Thursday’s announcement that fastest woman alive Elaine Thompson-Herah had jumped ship from Nike to the German brand.
