131 new COVID-19 cases, no deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica on Wednesday recorded 131 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total confirmed cases to 145,983.
No new deaths were reported. The death toll remains at 3,187.
Of the newly reported cases, there were 81 females and 50 males – with ages ranging from four months to 90 years.
The new cases were recorded in St James (eight), Kingston and St Andrew (57), St Ann (four), Westmoreland (six) and Clarendon (six), Hanover (two), St Thomas (11), St Mary (three), St Catherine (28), Manchester (one), St Elizabeth (three) and Portland (two).
Trelawny was the only parish to record no new cases.
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the country also recorded 93 recoveries, for a total of 93,544.
The positivity rate for the latest round of testing now stands at 29.5 per cent.
Currently, 102 people are hospitalised with two being critically ill.
