Alliance Financial partners with Unicomer Jamaica

Alliance Financial Services Limited (AFSL) has entered into an agreement with Unicomer Jamaica that will see its agent network expanded by almost 50 per cent.

The partnership will allow MoneyGram customers to pick up their money transfers at Courts stores islandwide.

“We are excited about this new development because it means our clients can conveniently collect their money at additional locations,” said Omar Brown, CEO, AFSL.

“Partnering with Unicomer means that in addition to our over 52 sub-agents and five Alliance offices, these 28 Courts stores islandwide will greatly expand our network,” he continued.

In February 2022, Sagicor Group entered an agreement to purchase AFSL — a primary agent of MoneyGram — and in May 2022, Unicomer was approved as a sub-agent for Alliance.

“Unicomer is a trusted company and being aligned with them is a great move. Remittance is a huge industry in Jamaica and so providing more, safe options for our clients is always top of mind, partnering with Unicomer was a no-brainer,” shared Brown.

MoneyGram International, Inc is a global leader in the evolution of digital peer-to-peer (P2P) payments and has served over 150 million people worldwide in the last five years. With over 200 locations in Jamaica, it is one of the country’s leading remittance services providers.

Kimberley Naar, director of sales — Unicomer Jamaica Limited, highlighted that the partnership was mutually beneficial. “With remittance inflows to Jamaica in 2021 hitting a high of US$3.3 billion, we are happy to be facilitating this flow to our customers in a safe, convenient and efficient way. We view this partnership as mutually beneficial as we improve the convenience and efficiency of remittance services to our customers while at the same time expanding MoneyGram’s footprint islandwide through our network of 28 Courts locations.”

Brown also shared that more is in store for AFSL as the company continue to strengthen and improve its services islandwide.
