#Jamaica60: Hundreds with tickets locked out of Grand Gala
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hundreds of Jamaicans with tickets were unable to enter the National Stadium Saturday evening to witness the Grand Gala, the crowning event of the country’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
“This is the first and last time (I will be coming to the national stadium). It’s very disappointing,” one frustrated ticket holder told OBSERVER ONLINE.
“Police using horses as weapons against people waiting to get in.
“Having horses lashing out and whipping around on people and kids,” the disappointed ticket holder added.
Another frustrated ticket holder told our news team, “The man ah talk about mi must move from the gate or else the horse ah guh kick mi. Mi just dash weh the ticket. I am going home! And ah grandstand ticket mi get.”
Said another: “They closing the gates on people with tickets saying the stadium full so it’s either they went overkill on tickets or most people currently inside the stadium are not ticket holders”.
