KINGSTON, Jamaica – Constable Noel Maitland, the boyfriend of missing social media influencer Donna-Lee Donaldson, who was scheduled to make an appearance in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, is now set to appear before the courts on Friday.

Maitland was charged with murder after an intensive investigation into Donaldson’s disappearance.

His attorney, Christopher Townsend, who brought the case to the judge’s attention, noted that he was aware that the public was notified that Maitland should be in court on Thursday but shared that after checks were made the Constable was not present.

“I have made some checks downstairs but he is not here,” Townsend said.

The prosecution subsequently confirmed that Maitland will be in court on Friday.

Police reports indicated that on July 11, about 10:00 pm, Donaldson was picked up at her house by Maitland in a black BMW motor car to spend the night with him at an apartment located at Chelsea Manor.

But, on July 12, Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg, reported to police that she had not seen or heard from her daughter.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey, made the announcement of Maitland’s murder charge at a press conference earlier this month. In that correspondence, the top cop said investigators have theorised that Donaldson was murdered between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12.
