Teeardropz’s in a Dancing Mood

Teeardropz has been on a musical high since his Afrobeat-flavoured Dancing Mood amassed more than 1,000,000 streams on the African streaming platform Boomplay since its release in April 2022.

“This is a great achievement, from zero stream to a 1,000,000, that’s a great look for my career,” said Teeardropz, whose real name is Jonathan Brown.

A video is in the works.

“It will give the fans a sure feeling of that old reggae vibe from the ’60s ’cause this is a powerful feel-good song that will do well throughout the global reggae communities of the world,” he said. “I am now working on a tour that will see me performing in the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa as I promote this song. I just want to keep getting better and better at my craft.”

Brown, who hails from Trelawny, developed an early love of music as his father was a band leader who played the guitar. He later attended Cedric Titus High School and after graduating he began to take music seriously in 2014. He recorded his first song, a rap-influenced song, that got little attention. He continued to write and hone his talent.

He first came to public attention in 2020 with Trodding – produced by the late Barry O’Hare – which gave him the nudge on the charts on Amazon as well as iTunes.

Other standout songs are Wake Up List, Fast Food ft Takeova, and Perfidia Love ft Cheri Janae.
