CLARENDON, Jamaica – Two little boys watched as their mother and father were viciously beaten in front of them by gunmen who then made off with their car and other belongings.

The gruesome incident happened along the Toll Gate main road in Clarendon on the weekend. The boys, ages 4 and 10, were not harmed during the ordeal.

Police said the stolen vehicle, a 2014 White Toyota Probox, was later found abandoned in the Toll Gate area.

Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that about 3 pm, the common-law couple and their two sons were travelling along the roadway. Upon reaching the Town and Country Plaza, the father, who was driving, stopped to urinate on the side of the road.

The police said while urinating, a white Nissan AD Wagon, drove up and stopped behind the vehicle.

Three men exited the AD Wagon. Two of them, one armed with a handgun and the other with a board baton, entered the victims’ car through both rear doors and ordered the father to drive to a nearby dirt road.

The father complied and drove along the dirt road, where the men ordered them to stop and exit the vehicle.

After threatening the victims, one of the men began using the board baton to inflict several blows on the mother and father in front of the children.

Police said the mother received several wounds to her head and hand, while the father got bruises to his lower abdomen and other sections of his body.

The men then robbed the couple of their car, cell phones, and other personal items. They drove away and left the family.

All four were assisted, by a passing motorist, to the May Pen Hospital, where they were treated and released. A report was then made to the police.

Swift action by the lawmen resulted in their vehicle being found abandoned in the Toll Gate area. It was towed to the Four Path Station and processed.
