August Performance

Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited (Purity) was the best-performing stock in August as it rose by 61 per cent from $1.42 to $2.28. Everything Fresh Limited (EFRESH), Margaritaville (Turks) Limited (JMD shares), Productive Business Solutions Limited, Sygnus Credit Investments Limited (USD shares), Paramount Trading (Jamaica) Limited, Indies Pharma Jamaica Limited, and Access Financial Services Limited were the other best-performing stocks in August.

FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited (USD shares) was the worst-performing stock in August as it declined by 38 per cent from US$0.0650 to US$0.0400. CAC 2000 Limited Limited, Portland JSX Limited, Radio Jamaica Limited (RJR), TransJamaican Highway Limited (USD shares), Medical Disposables and Supplies Limited, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy Limited (USD shares), and Carreras Limited were the next set of stocks showing big declines in August.

iCreate is the best-performing stock year-to-date as it remains up 444 per cent from $0.78 $4.24. FosRich Company Limited, MFS Capital Partners Limited, Stationery and Office Supplies Limited, Tropical Battery Company Limited, EFRESH, Purity, and Future Energy Source Company Limited are the other stocks showing good performance year-to-date. ISP Finance Services Limited is the worst-performing stock in 2022 having declined 48 per cent from $38 to $19.75. FirstRock (USD shares), Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited (JMD shares), Mailpac Group Limited, tTech Limited, Salada Foods Jamaica Limited, Jamaican Teas Limited, and Caribbean Cream Limited are the other stocks showing big declines year to date.

Market Sales and Events

An executive of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited sold 44,667 shares on August 19 while another executive sold 7,000 shares on August 23. A senior manager of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited purchased 591,177 shares on July 29 for a consideration of $17.38 million. A director of Jamaican Teas Limited sold 235,451 shares between August 16 to 29 while another director sold 88,645 shares between August 29 to 31. A connected party of Mayberry Investments Limited (MIL) sold 6,584,865 shares at $9 for a consideration of $58.94 million to another MIL connected party on August 30. Another connected party of MIL purchased 452,425 shares for a consideration of $4.12 million on August 29. A director of Future Energy Source Company Limited sold 766,350 shares between August 16 to 29. A connected party of Ironrock Insurance Company Limited sold 117 shares for $3 on August 29. A director of EduFocal Limited purchased 2,550,000 shares for $2.54 for a consideration of $6.48 million on August 30.

Pulse Investments Limited and Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited 2022 audited financials have been delayed to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Pulse noted that some confirming parties have been sick and others have been on vacation. Pulse expects to be submit their financials by September 21 and CPJ expects to submit their financials by October 12.

Deveta McLaren has resigned as manager of sales and marketing for Access Financial Services Limited effective September 30.

Ian Anderson has been appointed as the vice-president of information technology of Barita Investments Limited effective August 1.

Stationery and Office Supplies Limited (SOS) has been given a waiver by the Jamaica Stock Exchange to have a mentor as a requirement of being a Junior Market company on August 26. SOS was listed on the JSE on August 10, 2017 and is currently subject to the 50 per cent tax remission at its normal rate.

NCB Financial Group Limited hit a 52-week low of $88.00 on September 1 which is the lowest the stock has been since October 11, 2017. Scotia Group Jamaica Limited hit a 52-week low of $30.11 on August 29 which is the lowest it’s been since October 2016.

SCI’s board approved a US$0.00262 dividend to be paid on October 14 to shareholder on record as of September 30. This payment totals US$1,548,356 and adds to the US$7.7 million or 13 per cent of share capital paid in dividends since October 2018.

Dolphin Cove Limited has declared a dividend of $0.40 to be paid on September 29 for shareholders on record as of September 15. This payment totals $156.97 million and is the second dividend payment in 2022.

Scotia Group Jamaica Limited will consider a dividend payment at its board meeting today while Seprod Limited will consider a dividend on September 9.
