Hope Zoo brings ‘Angels of Hope’ to charities
Hope Zoo is giving back to other charitable organisations through its Angels of Hope programme, citing first-hand knowledge of “how special it feels to receive and how important (it is) to give back”.
The Angels of Hope programme exists to support other charitable organisations by offering sponsorship to their members throughout the year.
“Donating to the causes we care about not only benefits the charities we support, but is deeply rewarding for us too. The knowledge that we are helping others is hugely empowering and, in turn, can make us as a team feel happier and more fulfilled,” the zoo stated in a release.
Angels of Hope sponsorship entails offering zoo visits to charitable organisations such as Food for the Poor, brotherhood groups and state homes for children at no cost to them.
“Thanks to generous support from our sponsors, we often provide tickets to the visiting members of these organisations, and children get to spend the day at the zoo exploring all the activities our zoo has to offer. These activities include a zoo tour, animal interaction, Zoo keeper talks as well as enjoying our interactive playzone facilities,” the zoo said.
“Having the power to give a positive experience and improve the mood of others is truly a privilege, and one that comes with its own sense of obligation. Acting on these powerful feelings of responsibility is a great way to reinforce our own personal values, it feels like we’re impacting in a way that is true to Hope Zoo’s own vision and ethical beliefs,” it added in the release.
The organisation believes that participation in this activity can alter the course of children’s futures and help to mold them into healthy adults.
“Our mission for the programme is that with each visit one person will take with them the knowledge to believe they can make a difference. We believe this is a wonderful, empowering message for kids and adults that they are important enough to have an impact on someone or something else by nurturing, tolerance, patience, compassion and acceptance to all living things great or small,” the organisation said.
