SUPREME Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), promoter of local horse racing, has forged a partnership with Caribbean Global Network through its radio station Bridge 99 FM to bring live horse racing to the United States (USA), Canada and United Kingdom (UK).

This broadcast of local horse racing will begin on Saturday. Also, horse racing will be carried live on affiliated station IRIE JAM RADIO, potentially reaching millions of Caribbean listeners in New York, Toronto and London.

Speaking at the press conference at Caymanas Park on Tuesday, Lorna Gooden, general manager of SVREL, said that her team is very excited about this venture as this partnership is another step in taking the sport to pole position in the country.

“We are excited about this partnership as it means not only Jamaicans here on the island can catch horse racing live on radio or TV, but our fans in the Diaspora will be able to be tuned in to actions. SVREL is very pleased to be entering a new era in our broadcast of live racing from Caymanas Park,” she said.

“This expanded reach will augur well for the business and for the sport of horse racing in general. We anticipate rekindling a love for horse racing in those who perhaps used the regular Caymanas Park, as well as ignite a passion in new spectators whose eyes and ears will now be opened to the unique and electrifying product we have here at the Park.

“I know fans in the Diaspora will be thrilled with the development; and I am pleased to tell you that with MBet, our online betting platform, you can place your wagers for your favourites without having to visit the track or OTBs. We welcome Bridge 99FM, and so let’s get together into the future of horse racing,” Gooden added.

Robert Clarke, Caribbean Global Network’s president and chief executive officer, gave his company’s commitment to horse racing.

“I am ecstatic. Being from the Diaspora who have lived in New York for 30 years, we have managed to bring to that market something that is longing for. This is aligned with the vision of the Bridge 99FM, and I can tell you there’s a lot more to come,” Clarke said.

Clyde McKenzie, a Caribbean Global Network director, said the partnership indicates Bridge’s growth in the market.
