Westwood High Celebrates 140 Years

The Westwood Old Girls’ Association (WOGA), under the patronage of Hugh Gentles, custos of Trelawny, and Dr Carol Gentles, hosted an awards gala in celebration of the school’s 140th anniversary. The elegant affair was held on Saturday, October 22, at Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa on Montego Bay’s famed Elegant Corridor.

The evening belonged to the awardees in recognition of their contribution to the school and for outstanding service to various industries locally and internationally, including tourism, health, public service and community development.

Guest speaker for the evening Justice Vivene Harris, herself a past student, implored the gathered cohort to continue excelling and to make themselves available to mentor and attract young women to the organisation.

It was a delightful evening as the women reminisced fondly about, among other things, their Jippi Jappa hat days.
