Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) President Michael Ricketts says he is positive about the changes made at the body’s executive level as he expects it to bring more harmony to its operations and duty to its stakeholders.

The JFF announced a number of changes at its executive level at a handing-over ceremony on Tuesday where the JFF received a new bus from Jameco Equipment Company, a subsidiary of Stewart’s Automotive Group.

These changes, the JFF says, are part of its efforts to rebrand itself and strengthen its administration.

Ricketts said that the JFF’s marketing committee will now be chaired by Chris Dehring, while Dennis Grant will take up a position as the deputy chairman.

The committee also consists of Stewart Jacobs and Nicole Bicknell.

Ricketts says Dehring will be allowed to add another two members to the department.

Nickesha Eulette has been promoted to chairperson of the finance committee after Dennis Chung left the role to become the JFF’s new general secretary.

The JFF has had a number of publicised disputes between national players and members of its executive, as well as reported tension between board members. This has resulted in criticism by the public about how the JFF has handled its affairs and also its professionalism.

This tension also led to the resignation of former General Secretary Dalton Wint following an ultimatum issued by members of the senior national men’s team for his departure.

This was followed by the JFF making changes to its personnel to “rebrand its image”.

“We are destined to succeed because no, we have a secretariat that operates as a team,” Ricketts said. “We want to ensure that we work together. In the name of democracy, we’re not always going to agree, but let us sort our issues out respectfully,” he said.

“I have no issues with people who are unhappy with certain things, but let us be respectful in how we settle our issues,” he also noted.

The bus donated by Jameco will be used to transport the JFF’s national teams of all age groups to and from matches and training camps.

The unit is a King Long XMQ6858Y, which seats 38 passengers and has been wrapped in decals representing the JFF’s logo.

The bus will be in use today as Jamaica’s senior Reggae Girlz travel to St James for an international friendly match against Paraguay at the Montego Bay Sports Complex tomorrow. The teams will meet again at the National Stadium in Kingston on Sunday.
