Jamaica Technology & Digital Alliance (JTDA) said this year’s staging of its annual BizTech Conference, which is set for November 17 and 18 at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston, will focus on the National Identification System (NIDS).

Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister Floyd Green, who has responsibility for the implementation of NIDS, will be among features speakers at the conference.

“BizTech 2022 will also announce its crowdfunding campaign for girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), through the JTDA’s Tech Alliance Fund. This announcement comes in a bid to improve education in the areas of science and technology, and will benefit a number of Jamaican girls,” the organisation said in a release.

The conference will see attendees experiencing both virtual and face-to-face conversations and hybrid experiences, virtual classes, and networking opportunities.

Through the conference, the JTDA is seeking to engage information technology professionals in business and academic communities throughout the region creating a robust an innovative platform for technology development partners, the private sector, civil society, academia, Caribbean Governments, and the public at large, to meet and share new technological innovations and insights.

Over the two days, participants will cover topics surrounding the metaverse, Web 3, NFTs and createch (the virtual world), e-commerce, fintech, data protection and cybersecurity, leadership, literacy and talent in the digital sphere, as well as health technology.

JTDA is a non-profit organisation serving tech professionals and vendors in Jamaica and the Diaspora, with the vision of providing access, influence and empowerment through technology.
