Mr & Ms Ja High School this evening
AFTER a two-year break due to COVID-19 the IMMA (Immaculate Modelling Agency) Mr and Ms Jamaica High School competition returns with its latest instalment this evening at Holy Childhood High School, located at 2 Skibo Avenue in St Andrew.
Show time is slated for 6:00 pm.
Paul Abrahams is conceptualiser of Mr and Ms Jamaica High School. He is promising an exciting evening.
“We have 25 schools this year — it’s a nice mix of Corporate Area and rural high schools. The students will be judged on talent and personality, they would have to showcase a physical talent on stage, and [regarding ] fashion, they will have to make a creative piece and model it,” Abrahams told the Jamaica Observer.
“In addition, the contestants went through an eight-week development workshop where invited people comprising corporate Jamaica, members of government agencies, and past kings and queens [of the competition] come and speak with them,” he continued.
According to the conceptualiser, this year’s contingent includes: Mile Gully and Bellefield high schools in Manchester; Tacky High in St Mary; Seaforth High in St Thomas; Oberlin High in St Andrew; St Catherine High in Spanish Town; and The Queen’s School, Ardenne, Dunoon, and St Andrew Technical high schools in Kingston.
The reigning Mr and Ms Jamaica are Jamiel Biss (Dinthill High in St Catherine) and Deandra Thompson (Meadowbrook High in St Andrew).
