Popcaan’s lawyer says artiste is ‘understandably infuriated’ after Burna Boy concert issues
Ron Young, attorney-at-law representing dancehall star Popcaan, has issued a statement in the wake of his client accusing music insider Sharon Burke, a principal of the Solid Agency, of attempting to “sabotage” the artiste’s performance at the Burna Boy concert at the National Stadium in Kingston over the weekend.
“We are taking instructions from our client. He was understandably infuriated by the technical issues at the Burna Boy concert that shortchanged the Jamaican fans he loves to perform for at the highest level,” Ron Young told OBSERVER ONLINE.
“Any issues related to that will be ventilated and resolved in due course.”
Solid Agency was among the organisers of the Burna Boy show along with Twisted Entertainment and Duke Concept. In a joint statement on Monday, the organisers acknowledged the audio issues and stated that they were committed to resolving the issue in the future.

However, in a video making the rounds on social media, Popcaan lambasted Burke.
“I am taking this opportunity to send a message to Sharon Burke and the not-so-solid agency. Ahhmm, mi know exactly what oonu do the other night at the stadium when oonu try to sabotage mi performance because of personal feelings. We all know say oonu hate me but oonu caan control me, what oonu don’t have shares or percentage inna, oonu feel like oonu can control the industry and put who oonu want at number one, and put who oonu want put international,” the Unruly Boss said.
He boasted that the “Unruly Boss break dem spell de long time and show oonu say mi no need oonu fi do s—t’.”
He then turned his wrath towards dancehall Shaggy.
“It late fi oonu, oonu caan stop Unruly again, mi know how oonu roll, oonu waan be industry gatekeepers , waan control who go international and who stay, oonu know oonu caan control me already. And Shaggy, you is a b***, yu hear, me say that Shaggy, yu is a little b***,” he said, without stating what issue he had with the ‘It Wasn’t Me’ singer.
Popcaan’s set during the Burna Boy concert was plagued by technical difficulties. At one point, he walked off stage and pleaded to the organisers, “dem say dem nah hear, fix up the (expletive deleted) mic, don’t try ramp wid me, fix up the ting man’.
When contacted by OBSERVER ONLINE for a comment on Popcaan’s allegations, representatives of Solid Agency said they will be issuing a statement on the matter soon.
