A ‘Day One’ affair for Kosa

AS everyone continues to bask in the season of togetherness, emerging singjay Kosa believes his single Day One is appropriate.

“It’s positive energy. Many people can relate to Day One ’cause we all have genuine and loyal family and friends,” the artiste, whose given name is Collin Weir, told the Jamaica Observer.

“The song is about real and genuine people who are not selling out their friends. I was just representing for my true family and friends who have kept it real with me from day one,” he continued.

Day One, produced by Invasion Productions, was released in April.

The Bridgeport High School past student has been an entertainer for more than a decade and deems himself versatile.

“I’ve been doing music for all my life, since I was a juvenile. My sound is just authentic dancehall and reggae, with a mixture of modern flavour,” he said.

His past releases include the Never Give Up EP (2020), and his Reggae Rockaz album (2021), as well as singles such as Blazing, Indian Drum, For You, and Dancehall.

He is, however, eyeing collaborations with some of the industry’s bigwigs.

“There are so many artistes I would collaborate with. [The] number one on the list is ‘The General’ Bounty Killer ’cause a my deejay from day one as a youth,” he said.

The entertainer also hopes to become more renowned for 2023.

“My plans for the new year is to make Kosa a household name and a brand,” he continued.
