After a pleasing sixth-place finish in the inaugural staging of the US$125,000 Mouttet Mile (invitational) on December 3, 2022, She’s My Destiny returned to competitive action in the $2-million Christopher “Chris” Armond Sprint Trophy feature on December 26, 2022.

Bred by Bern Identity out of the Traditional mare Woman Is Boss, She’s My Destiny return for the three-year-old and upward Open Allowance/Graded Stakes contest was well-anticipated, especially after the Jason DaCosta trainee clocked an impressive 1:06.1 for 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) with the last 5 furlongs (1,000m) done in 1:00.1 in her exercise gallop on Monday, December 19.

The talented filly didn’t disappoint as She’s My Destiny, in another super sprinting display, easily brushed aside rivals by 5 lengths going away in the 5 ½ furlong contest in a new stakes record of 1:04.4.

It was an even start for most of the runners in the small field of six, and after a couple of strides, She’s My Destiny burst through the pack and picked up the lead ahead of God of Love (Dane Dawkins), Eagle One (Jordan Barrett), and King Arthur (Reyan Lewis).

Going into the half-mile (800m) turn, She’s My Destiny upped the tempo ahead of the chasing God of Love and Eagle One and opened up leaving the seven-sixteenth marker. Turning for home with a healthy lead, She’s My Destiny turned on the pressure in the deep stretch and cruised home to win on a common canter at the wire.

Duke (Robert Halledeen) came home in second place and God of Love finished third. The splits were 23.0 x 45.4.
