St Catherine man charged with illegal firearm, ammo possession
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— A man has been arrested and charged for the possession of an illegal weapon and ammunition after he was searched by lawmen on patrol in March Pen in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Saturday, December 24.
Charged is 26-year-old Atlee Murray of March Pen Road in the parish.
Police attached to the St Catherine North Division reported that about 9:35pm, a team of officers on patrol in the area saw a group of men standing on the roadway.
On approach of the police, Murray reportedly ran. He was later accosted and searched and a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 15 cartridges was reportedly removed from his waistband.
Murray was arrested and subsequently charged on December 30, 2022.
