Jahmiel aiming for ‘even greater’ achievements for 2023
Reggae artiste Jahmiel is promising an “even greater” 2023 after what he described as a productive year in music with the release of his second studio album titled ‘Legend’ in April 2022.
It was a big year for the artiste, given name Jamiel Foster, who shocked the country with news of his baptism, then ended the year performing on stage at Sting for the fourth time since his career jumped off in 2015.
“I enjoyed my performance at Sting recently and we’re getting a lot of positive feedback even now from those who were present in the crowd. It’s actually my fourth time being on Sting stage and it has always been a good experience for me,” Jahmiel told OBSERVER ONLINE.
A standout year for the artiste also included a performance in Malawi, Africa, where he said the warm welcome he received was not a surprise as he has many fans in the country.
“Honestly I wasn’t surprised because I know I have a lot of supporters in Africa. Malawi was all love. I felt appreciated for all the energy I’ve put into the music over the years. Truth be told, they had a list of popular artistes to do the show and I won by having way more votes. I might not be popular right now in some places, but the world is a big place,” the artiste said.
As for the new year, Jahmiel has released what he is expecting to be a banger in his new single ‘Favourite Dress’. He said the new track is geared towards his female fans and he is expecting to receive positive feedback from them. A music video for the song has already been released.
“Favourite Dress is a nice love song dedicated to the ladies. As you know, I have a lot of female fans. I can’t wait to see their reactions. I see ladies loving this one all over the world, it has an international vibe to it. I declare a hit,” he stated.
When asked about his Christian walk after his baptism in May 2022 at the Tarrant Baptist Church, the artiste said that he is focusing on the aspect of living right and not focusing solely on religion.
“I’m on a journey of living righteously and doing so isn’t limited to no religion, it’s from within. Jahmiel is for the people, whether Christian, Muslim etc. I stand on good over evil and that’s what my music reflects,” Jahmiel told OBSERVER ONLINE.
When the artiste took the plunge last year, some questioned if it was a publicity stunt but those close to the artiste refuted the claim stating that the tenets of Christianity were always in Jahmiel’s music.
The artiste has promised to uphold this in his music, telling OBSERVER ONLINE that it will be non-stop work for 2023.
Jahmiel is also planning on releasing an EP in February.
He revealed that the new EP will be centred around his female fans and declared that it will “create a new wave” for his music career.
