Jonas Brothers’ reggae song ‘Only Human’ certified 2x platinum in the US
‘Only Human’ by American pop rock group the Jonas Brothers was on Monday certified 2x platinum for sales exceeding two million units in the United States.
The certification was issued by the Recording Industry Association of America.
‘Only Human’ was released in July 2019 via Republic Records as the third and final single from the group’s fifth studio album Happiness Begins.
It was co-written by the members of the group along with its producer Shellback. Shellback is known for his work with several international acts including Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran among others.
Shellback has another connection to reggae. He co-produced Sean Paul’s ‘She’s Doesn’t Mind’, which was featured on the deejay’s fifth studio album Tomahawk Technique (2011).
In 2012, Billboard magazine ranked Shellback as its number one producer for the year.
‘Only Human’ was a hit stateside and globally. It peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, number one in Canada and Czech Republic and number 64 in the United Kingdom. It also made the top 10 in Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Romania and Slovenia.
The song was previously certified gold in Belgium, Denmark, Italy and Portugal, while earning platinum certifications in France and Poland. It has been certified double platinum in Australia and Canada.
