Man killed, woman injured in St James gun attack
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A man was killed and a woman shot and injured during an attack by gunmen on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in Montego Bay, St James Tuesday evening.
Police have identified the dead man as 41-year-old Albert Reid. The 26-year-old injured female has since been admitted to hospital.
According to reports, at around 6:40 pm, Reid and the woman were in a motor car when a gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire, hitting him in the head.
The now-injured woman was also hit on a section of her body, the police said.
The gunman fled and escaped from the area.
The police were alerted and both victims were assisted to the hospital where Reid was pronounced dead and the woman treated and admitted in stable condition.
