#Champs2023: ‘Dr Speed’ – KC’s Nkrumie storms to Champs first sub-10 clocking

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Kingston College’s Bouwahjgie Nkrumie clocked an impressive time of 9.99 seconds to become the first athlete to run a sub-11 clocking in the 100m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Championships.

Nkrumie, who set a then Champs record of 10.08 seconds to qualify for the final, is now the third junior in history to go sub-10.

Meanwhile, the silver went to Deandre Daley of Herbert Morrison in a lifetime best of 10.14 seconds, while Jamaica College’s Jaiden Reid, who ran 10.26 seconds.
