KINGSTON, Jamaica – Nastassia Fletcher of Hydel High and Jordan Rehedul of Kingston College are the leaders heading into Thursday’s final of the Class 3 400m final at the ISSA/Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Fletcher dominated semi-final one and finished in a time of 54.60 seconds. But she will receive a strong contest from Excelsior High’s Breana Brown, who is vetted as the favourite to win on Thursday. Brown clocked 55.54 seconds to win semi-final two

Also in the mix is Shanoya Douglas of Muschett High.

The other finalists are Rhianna Lewis of Rhodes Hall, Wolmer’s Girls pair of Zonya-Camay Sterl and Kaysian Sewell, Holmwood’s Britannaia Bailey and Maddison Campbell of Ferncourt High.

In the boys’ equivalent of the event, it was Rehedul who looked the most composed from the three semi-finals. He recorded an easy 51.07 seconds to lead the way. He will be joined by his teammate Eshanee Porter, who won semi-final three and recorded a time of 51.09, the second-fastest time of the day.

The KC boys will get a strong challenge from Christopher Ellis of Calabar High. He clocked 51.51 seconds in his semis win.

The other finalists include Jevari McKoy of Ferncourt High, St Mary High’s Rasheed Grant, Akeem Honeyghan of Maggotty High, St Jago’s Rushaine Richards and Marko Callaghan of Jamaica College.

The Class 3 girls will run their final at 8:52 pm, while the boys will vie for the gold at 9:00 pm.
