17-y-o girl among four arrested after 9lbs of ganja found in garbage bags
PORTLAND, Jamaica – Four persons, including a 17-year-old, were charged for possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and trafficking ganja following an incident on the Stony Hill Road in Portland on Saturday.
Charged are Jordon Brown, 19, a construction worker, Gary Rodgers, 44, a taxi operator and 39-year-old Nicola Wilson, a farmer. All are from a Burnt Savanna, St Elizabeth address. A 17-year-old girl, unemployed of Lionel Town in Clarendon was also arrested.
Police reported that they were on mobile patrol duties when they received information about a Toyota Voxy minibus with men aboard.
Reports are that the vehicle was seen driving along the Nuttall Main Road when the driver was signalled to stop, but instead, eluded the police.
A chase ensued from Nuttall Road to Stony Hill Road in Portland, where the vehicle was intercepted and searched and two black garbage bags containing transparent plastic bags with loose and package vegetable matter resembling ganja weighing 9lbs were found.
