Street Food & Pepsi

What’s the latest foodie buzz? The Pepsi Food Truck Pop-Up is on the move, that’s what! Serving up a unique street food experience courtesy of four talented chefs. The truck’s debut at the Carnival Road March, Sunday, April 16, was a welcome sight for revellers and spectators alike who took advantage of the vibrant and flavourful meals curated by Chef Yassi Brissett, otherwise known as the “Skinny Chef”, perfectly complemented with ice-cold Pepsi.

The offerings of Glazed Chicken Wings, Beer Battered Crispy Fish Sticks and Spicy Slow Cooked Beef Tacos were well-received by the crowd – including entrepreneur and music executive Romeich, entertainer and recording artiste Denyque, and content creator Chad Luchey – and were completely sold-out.

According to Pepsi-Cola Jamaica Brand Coordinator Yanique Dawkins, the pop-ups will be different, as the chefs have complete autonomy in creating their menus.

“We are thrilled to introduce this experience that connects Pepsi- Cola to Jamaica’s culinary scene, ” said Dawkins.

She added that while Pepsi does support the food industry through quick service and fine dining restaurants, this experience is to reiterate that Pepsi is the brand in the streets for the people and with the people.

“Each pop-up will not just be about joining the line and getting your food; instead, we want people to stay and interact with the brand, meet our team and share the experience with others,” she emphasised.

The Pepsi Food Truck journey continues in Ochi, on Saturday, April 29 with Aaliyah Terrelonge and foodie influencer Wonga Gyal.

The other pop-ups are slated for May 12 with Haleem Card and May 28 with Andre Sewell.
