Foreign national charged for 9mm cartridges seizure at Sangster International Airport
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A foreign national was arrested and charged following the seizure of ten 9-millimetre cartridges at the Sangster International Airport in St James on Thursday.
He is 41-year-old Samuel Olatimehin, an engineer of North Winslowe Drive, Illinois, United States.
Reports from the police are that about 11:40 am, Olatimehin was travelling through security to board a flight destined for Fort Lauderdale when his black backpack was scanned and anomalies detected. The bag was searched and the cartridges were found in a section of the bag.
He was subsequently arrested and charged for the seizure.
Olatimehin is scheduled to appear in the St James Parish Court on Monday, May 22.
