Stylysh to make comeback with new music, new look

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A car accident in 2019 left dancehall artiste Stylysh nursing a number of injuries. The entertainer recalls suffering such excruciating pain that even with the medical assistance being given on local shores, she had to seek health care elsewhere.

She left the island for the United States and has been missing from the entertainment scene since.

“I met in a car accident in 2019 and got really sick. I was feeling a lot of pain in my stomach and was going to different doctors and hospitals locally. I spent a lot of money trying to figure out what was wrong but nothing was working. I got a lot of medication but was still feeling the pain. I couldn’t take it anymore and so I went to America for treatment,” she told OBSERVER ONLINE.

“As soon as dem find out, like the same day they found the problem, I had to do an emergency surgery. They said if I had waited another day or two, the worst could have happened. My intestines were ruptured and waste wasn’t leaving my body like it should and so I was slowly poisoning.”

Stylysh said she recovered well from the surgery and was ready to pick up where she left off as far as her career was concerned, but COVID-19 had other plans.

“I ended up staying in America, said I would fix things and get back into it but COVID came and put the world at a standstill so I had to just stay put. Everything was on lock down fi like two years,” she said. “Everything happened all at once and so it ended up taking a while for me to get back into the game. But, I’m back now and mi ready fi take on the road like never before. Now mi fully prepared. Mi inna a better space in all aspects a mi life so mi just ready right now fi just take on the world.”

Having released a brand new single over the weekend, Stylysh says she has plans to feed her fans song after song and is looking forward to releasing her debut EP.

“I’m so excited about my EP. It’s coming soon. I have so many songs, I thought why not give the people a ‘Stylysh project.’ Di people dem ago get music pan top a music, pan tap a music,” she stated.

“The song I have out now is called Nice and Clean. Di girl dem a bawl say dem too nice fi deh wid bruk man and so mi a put it out there inna song. Nuh bruk bwoy cyah look me or my fren dem,” the artiste said. “Di woman dem a level up while di man dem a gwaan like dem too lazy and mi ah tell dem get up and do di right thing. Make some money.”

Still, her music is not the only thing novel about the artiste these days. Sporting a more shapely figure, Stylysh told OBSERVER ONLINE that her emergency surgery left her with some scars she wanted to fix and so she did.

“I did a likkle enhancement yes. Mi a keep it real wid di people. But yuh done know we keep it simple, nothing too much, nothing too extra,” she said about her tummy tuck. The entertainer said having learnt ages ago not to judge, she believes people should do whatever makes them happy even if that means going under the knife.

“Anything anybody wah do fi feel better bout demself fi build up dem self esteem, whatever makes you happy just go for it. Do what you want because people are always going to talk,” she said indicating that she heard some of the chatter sorrounding her new look. “After the surgery, mi stomach did look a way so mi do a likkle lippo on mi stomach. Mi feel better and mi body ready fi dancehall again.”
