Ninecea and Jada Kingdom create musical sparks with Turn Me On

Ninecea has landed the biggest collaboration of his growing career with the song Turn Me On featuring Jada Kingdom.

Turn Me On, produced by multi-platinum selling producer Tarik “Rvssian” Johnston, is due for release today via Head Concussion Records.

Ninecea, who emerged on the scene last year, gained popularity thanks to the viral explosion of the song Nawmal.

The upper sixth form student at Jamaica College is excited about collaborating with Jada. In an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Thursday, Ninecea shared how the opportunity to work with the GPP singer came about.

“The collaboration came about when I previewed a song called Slow Whine on TikTok and I asked persons to tell me which artiste I should collaborate with on the track. Everyone tagged Jada in the post. A friend of mine has a friend who is close to Jada, and she told me how much she loved the song. We then communicated on Instagram and that’s where the dialogue began, with the interest of wanting to work together. Luckily, we were both in Miami at the time, so we met up at the studio and made a masterpiece of a song,” said Ninecea.

He added, “Jada has such a genuine soul and makes it so easy to work with her, everything was good energy, good vibes, and laughter.”

A video for Turn Me On was shot in Miami and directed by Marco.

The 19-year-old is excited about the future and, although he is studying business subjects in high school, said music is paramount for him.

“After finishing school I want to fully focus on my music and to take what I’ve learnt about business to my advantage,” he shared.

Asked how he manages to juggle music while balancing schoolwork, Ninecea said: “Music is my life, so throughout everything music is a part of it. I just try to manage my time better and communicate more with my teachers.”

Ninecea, who is from Westport in Portmore, told the Observer he has been influenced by music from an early age.

“Music been with me my whole life. I have been influenced to go into music from a tender age due to my family; so like when I was around eight or nine [years old], I started in the church,” he disclosed.

Ninecea, aka The 9ine, whose real name is Tahje Johnson, is also known for the viral hit songs Party Time (featuring Armanii), Brawlin, Big Fat Benz (featuring UNK), and Drift, which was produced by Romeich Entertainment.

He credits social media platforms like TikTok for playing a part in exposing several acts in recent years.

“I think TikTok is like one of the most important platforms nowadays. The impact on TikTok has been phenomenal for me,” said Ninecea.

He said his life has changed drastically since his breakout hit last year.

“A lot has changed for me since the songs have become popular. I am more used to reaching out to producers, but now they are reaching out to me like crazy. It’s a good feeling,” he shared.
