WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— Russia FC will go in search of a third straight win in the Westmoreland Football Association/Victor Lowe Major League on Thursday when they face Twelfth Street in the first game of a double header at Llandilo Sports Complex, set to start at 4:00pm.

After winning back-to-back games to start their season, Russia FC are in fourth place on six points and a win would see them join leaders Tuscany Warriors and Petersfield FC, both of whom have won all three games played so far.

Twelfth Street are in fifth position but on just three points and are coming off a loss in their most recent game.

In the second game, set to start at 6:00pm, Wets Development and Barracks Road, both of whom are seeking their first win of the series, will meet.

Tuscany Warriors and Petersfield FC extended their winning starts with wins earlier this week over Belmont Uprising and Shewsbury respectively, also at Llandilo. On Sunday, Tuscany Warriors beat Belmont Uprising 3-1 with goals from Zeco Stone in the 13th minute and Rushawn Graham in the 26th minute giving them a 2-0 half time lead. Devado Reid halved the deficit when he scored for Belmont in the 69th minute but Jevaughn Coleman restored Tuscany Warriors’ two goals advantage in the 87th minute.

On Tuesday, Petersfield blanked Shewsbury 3-0 with goals from Oshawn Neil in the 23rd minute and Shewayne Barton in the 61st minute, both getting their third of the season while Andre Smith added a third in the 81st minute.

Grange Hill snapped a two-game losing start to beat Savanna-la-Mar United 3-0 on Sunday with all three goals coming in the second half; Romani Jones got the first in the 61st minute, Tyrese Thompson added a second in the 65th minute and Antonio Campbell scored a third in the 70th minute.

Rayon Powell scored a double on Tuesday as STRATHS beat Stars of the West 2-1; Powell opened the scoring in the 21st minute only for Chenoy White to equalise in the 66th minute but came back to score the winner in the 79th minute.
