Treasure Beach FC took over the lead in the Jamaica Football Federation Tier II competition on Wednesday after edging the inconsistent Tru-Juice FC 1-0 at the Tru-Juice Complex in Bog Walk, St Catherine.

The St Elizabeth-based Treasure Beach is the fourth team to assume the lead in the competition as they improved to 22 points, two more than Racing United who edged Meadforest and Lime Hall Academy who were 1-0 winners over Browns Town in their St Ann derby.

Ferron Messam’s 14th-minute goal made the difference for Treasure Beach who won their fifth-straight and seventh game overall as Tru-Juice, who had won their previous two games, fell out of the top four.

Racing United are in second place on goal-difference over Lime Hall after Anton Rhule’s 58th-minute goal condemned Meadforest FC to their second loss and tumbled to fourth place in the tables.

Lime Hall Academy, who finished last season in the Tier II competition with nine points from two wins, are third after chalking up their sixth victory in this campaign.

Ranaldo Brown’s fourth goal of the season, coming in the 15th minute in the game at Drax Hall, secured all three points for Lime Hall as Browns Town fell to ninth place.

Albion Mountain, another of the surprise teams this season, moved up to sixth spot, two points off a semi-final place, beating Hopewell United 3-0 with goals from Douwarne Hamilton in the 16th minute, Alwayne Campbell in the 41st and Jahvaldo McDonald in the 85th minute.

Falmouth United scored back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they came from behind to beat Wadada United 2-1 at Elleston Wakeland Centre.

Keneil Woodstock gave Wadada United the lead in the 32nd minute against the run of play, but Patrick Shecklude, Falmouth United’s top scorer last season, equalised in the 37th minute with his first of the season.

Haniff Hosang got the winner in the 65th minute, his fifth goal of the season as Wadada United ended the game with 10 players after Andre Tate was sent off in the 70th minute.

Reno FC are unbeaten in three straight games after thrashing Portlanders FC 6-0, thanks to a double in three minutes from Michael Kerr who scored in the 35th and 37th minutes after Quain Bailey had given them the lead in the fifth minute.

Shane Ricketts in the 60th minute, Clifton Woodbine in the 76th and Tyrae Cummings in the 81st also got on the scoresheet for Reno FC.

Baptist Alliance scored their first win of the campaign, a big 8-0 spanking of hapless Downs YC as Jamar Francis led the way with a hat-trick, scoring in the 19th, 57th and 59th minutes and Romela Wilson had a double, in the 17th and 21st minutes.

Jazeel Cuthburth, Sushane Francis and Brandon Bailey also scored.
