Ruel Reid and Co expected to learn fate in Sep after judicial review

Former Education Minister Ruel Reid along with former Caribbean Maritime University President Fritz Pinnock, and their three co-accused, are to hear on September 5, 2023 whether they have a case to answer following the judicial review of their criminal charges.

Reid, Pinnock, Reid’s wife Sharen, their daughter Sharelle, and Jamaica Labour Party Councillor for the Brown’s Town Division Kim Brown Lawrence, are implicated in a multimillion-dollar fraud case.

They all appeared in court on Monday morning.

The judicial review was held before three judges on May 7 and 8.

It was the second judicial review of the case. The first judicial review was presided over by one judge.

Last year February, Chief Parish Judge Chester Crooks ruled that the accused had a case to answer.

Reid, Pinnock and their co-accused were arrested in October 2019 under charges of defrauding the Ministry of Education and the Caribbean Maritime University of millions of dollars.
