Jubilation among Jess supporters in PNP St Elizabeth NE run-off
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Delegates and supporters of lawyer Zuleika Jess have begun celebrating ahead of the results of Sunday’s run-off between her and Kern Spencer to be the Opposition People’s National Party’s (PNP) representative in the next parliamentary election.
Shortly before the end of voting the jubilant supporters and delegates hoisted placards bearing Jess’ image outside the entrance to the polling station at the St Elizabeth Technical High School in Santa Cruz.
Voting started at 9:00 am and was set to end at 3:00 pm.
There are 1,274 delegates eligible to vote during the internal election.
At the start of voting there was a verbal clash between supporters of Spencer and Jess.
