CLARENDON, Jamaica – A man accused of breaking several windows of his mother’s house to take back a chicken he had given her, has been charged by the police.

Kaven Rohan Blackstock, a 38-year-old poultry farmer from Corn Piece Settlement in Hayes, Clarendon, has been charged with malicious destruction of property.

Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that Blackstock, who operates a chicken farm, had given his 56-year-old mother a chicken.

It was reported that two days later, Blackstock started a fire and began killing and packaging his poultry. He wanted his mother to assist him, but she, however, refused to help.

This apparently got the accused upset, and he asked her to return the chicken that he gave to her.

Police reported that the man went inside the house and insisted his mother open the door to the room where she kept her refrigerator. She refused, and Blackstock went outside and picked up a piece of stick from the fireside.

The stick, the police said, was used to break five glass louvres to the room. The accused then placed his hand through the window, opened the door, entered and removed the chicken from the fridge.

A report was made and Blackstock was later accosted by the police and escorted to the Hayes Police Station, where he was subsequently arrested and charged.
