Withholding sex tax
Columns, News
Tony Robinson

Withholding sex tax

Refrain to-night,

And that shall lend a kind of ecstasy;

To the next abstinence;

The next more easy;

For use can change the stamp of nature.

— Shakespeare

Refrain tonight, be abstinent.

Why?

Because I say so and I have the power to make you do as I say.

Ah bwoy, women have the power to withhold sex, keep it from men, give them when they feel like and take it away when they see fit. The woman giveth and the woman taketh away, blessed be the game of the woman.

Yes, it does seem to be a game on her part doesn’t it? They know that men want it, and they have the ways and means to disseminate it. And the same way that goods and services are taxed to the populace, so is sex taxed when it comes to women and men.

Sex is held by the woman, that’s the goods, and the man is the consumer whether he pays for it or gets it free. One school of thought is that he always pays for it one way or another. So in order to make it worth her while, the woman imposes a tax on the product — the withholding sex tax.

And just like how General Consumption Tax (GCT) is imposed on the consumer, so is the withholding sex tax imposed on men. It can be tangible or it can be intangible, invisible, innocuous, but very effective.

Women have been imposing this Gender Coitus Tax (GCT) on men for centuries, but in the same way that inflation rises, this tax tends to increase with time, combined with the fact that women now wield more power and are able to demand more for their goods and services.

We’ll see what this withholding sex tax is, right after these responses to what I had to say about ‘All women love money’.

Hi Tony,

Here is my take on some of the quotes mentioned in your column. “All women love good looking men with money.”

“An old fool and his money are easier parted by young smarter women.”

“All women pretend to love older men with money.”

“All men love women with money.”

Carlos

Teerob,

You are treading on dangerous ground, but you have the gonads to do it, for what you say is true, even though many people, especially women, will pretend not to like what you say. Ask those women if they would like it if their daughter chose an old man with no money. Ask those women if they would deliberately choose a man with no money over a man who has money if she loves them both. Ask those women what pays the bills — money or love — then let them answer truthfully. It’s always about the money, or the potential to earn it.

Douglas

When you have goods and services at your disposal and have the ability to either dispense it or withhold it, you have power. Even more so if you have a monopoly on those goods and services, then you can dispense it, withhold it, ration it, and tax it as you see fit. After all, yu cyan jus’ get wey so, you have to make it worth your while.

It’s just like the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and their vast amount of oil. They have it in abundance, the world has this insatiable thirst for it, so they have the upper hand and can not only manipulate the price, but can dole it out whenever they feel like, in small increments or large amounts. They can even flood the market and impose whatever taxes.

The same applies to our utility companies, such as the power, water, and to a lesser extent the cable companies. They have the goods and services, the consumer needs it, so they can apply any tax that they feel like, even if the people protest, for in the long run they still have to go back to them for those services.

The same applies to women and sex, as many have realised what awesome power they have to dispense, disseminate, withhold or apply taxation — the devastating withholding sex tax.

But tell me what power does a man have when it comes to sex? Can he withhold it from her and tease her with it? Do women run down men for sex? Do women troll the streets looking for sex to buy? Do women lust after men and desperately want to have sex with them at all costs?

Well, a few may do, but in the main, it’s mostly the man who is always in pursuit and always the woman who has the goods. She has it, he wants it.

Because of this, it’s devastating to some men, and remember what I said about having a monopoly, for when she knows that he wants it and has nowhere else to go, she wields it like a dangling carrot before the donkey, teasing, tantalising, holding and withholding.

But let’s examine why women apply this withholding sex tax on men. What are the underlying or overarching reasons? Who better to divulge this information but the women themselves.

Now, apart from the old tried and proven weapon of maliciously locking shop on men that I’ve explored in the past, many women apply this withholding tax on men for various other reasons. One is revenge.

But not revenge in a cruel, malicious way, but more of a withdrawal shutdown revenge which at times is justified.

“He cheated on me, so I just couldn’t have sex with him after that. I just shut down.”

“But why didn’t you leave him?”

“Because I still love him, plus if I left, the other woman would win.”

Interesting logic, tinged perhaps with emotion, but by Jove, there seems to be some method in her madness yet.

Other types of taxation stem from sheer anger, where the woman knows that she can’t beat the man at his game, she won’t cheat out of fear, so she does what she thinks will hurt him — deprive him of sex, withholding sex tax.

“I can’t overpower him in other ways, but I know what he likes, so I deprive him of it, I withhold it.”

Some men say that women should be held accountable for this action, or inaction as the case may be.

“Withholding sex is tantamount to physical and emotional abuse,” one very upset husband told me after enduring months of forced celibacy from his wife.

“Your Honour, he physically abused me.”

“She withheld sex from me, Your Honour.”

“Guilty. Both are egregious crimes, equal under the law.”

Ironically, this withdrawal sex tax or Gender Coitus Tax is sometimes applied with no malicious intent.

Sometimes a woman just doesn’t feel interested in her man anymore — as the song says ‘You’ve lost that loving feeling’ — and withdraws sex. “I just don’t feel turned on by him anymore, that’s all.” Desire has died.

There are times when the woman becomes physically or emotionally involved with something or someone else. For some reason, her body and mind cannot be shared between two or more entities, so one suffers.

It stems from the old biblical saying, “Thou cannot serve two masters, lest you love one and hate the other.” This applies to women and their sexuality too, for unlike men who can stick their thingy into a hole in the ground or a soft breadfruit and be satisfied, it often requires much more than that for a woman when it comes to sex.

A man can jus’ go a street, buy a prostitute, do a thing, come home, take a shower and go to bed without a second thought. In most cases, this does not apply to a woman, whose complex emotions percolate.

If she gets deeply involved with something else, even church, and gives her mind, body and soul to the Lord, sex is the last thing on her mind, body, and soul.

Even the advent of a new baby will let women withdraw sex, as she is so preoccupied with the new entity.

“From the baby born me nuh get nutten, one year now.”

If she is consumed by anger, grief, or guilt, there is no room in her emotional makeup for sex, so the withholding sex tax will be applied.

Sometimes the woman is haunted by her history, by some past abusive partner, and those memories keep on resurfacing, re-emerging in her subconscious, dangling like the Sword of Damocles over her emotional head, and she applies the withholding sex tax.

“Every time he touches me I remember what my ex used to do to me.”

Some women actually hate men deep down without even being aware of it, in the same way that many womanising men actually hate women. But remember, for this withholding sex tax to be effective, the product or service has to be a monopoly. And that’s why this sort of taxation does not affect men who have alternative sources of acquiring said goods and services, where there is no taxation.

I’m not saying that it’s right, but for every action there is a reaction, and when it comes to emotions, it’s not always equal. You’ll see some men playing the field and wonder, “But why him gone back on the street with other woman?”

“That’s because the withholding sex tax at home was too high.”

We are often quick to judge, but just like in some societies when the taxation gets too oppressive, the people (men) rise up in revolt and protest, or they wither away.

More time.

Footnote: The Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games are now under way in San Salvador, El Salvador, and Jamaica has perhaps the biggest contingent that we’ve ever had taking part. Among them are the traditional sports such as track and field, football, etc. But also included are the ‘minor’ sports such as karate, of which I am particularly proud. Our two-person contingent of Valentyna Zolotarova, athlete, and Khalil Gordon, coach, will represent us well, as they will give their all to keep the sport highly visible and make Jamaica proud. It goes beyond kicking and punching, it’s mind, body, and spirit.
