OUR says farewell to Maurice Charvis
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) wished farewell to its Deputy Director General Maurice Charvis at a reception on Thursday, June 29.
The longest-serving member at the OUR, serving over 26 years at the regulatory agency, Charvis entered the organisation in March 1997, two months after it officially opened, rising through the ranks before being appointed deputy director general in 2009.
He also served two stints as acting director general in 2013 and 2016. Up to his retirement, he had primary oversight of the telecommunications sector.
At the reception held at Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, past and present members of the OUR, representatives of utility providers, and officials of government ministries lauded his contribution to the development of the electricity, water and sewerage, and telecommunications sectors.
