Oh, what a night it was for reggae dancehall legend and Grammy Award-winning artiste Mark Anthony Myrie, professionally known by his stage name Buju Banton, as he marked his 50th birthday in style at the Gargamel studio Saturday last.
The event, hosted by seasoned music selector Garfield “Ricky Trooper” McKoy and catered by Mark Chong, saw family and friends coming together for the special affair. And even those who couldn’t be physically present, like DJ Khalid, Machel Montano, Kabaka Pyramid, Shenseea, and Romaine Virgo, among others, sent their birthday wishes through video messages.
DJ Richie Feelings held down the fort all night spinning a mix of Buju Banton’s greatest hits from over the years. But it was Buju Banton himself who provided the night’s highlight with the performance of his 1997 hit song, Destiny.
