Peterkin to represent PNP in St Andrew East Rural constituency
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Attorney-at-law Patrick Peterkin is to represent the People’s National Party (PNP) in the Andrew East Rural constituency.
The announcement was made at a divisional conference at the Donald Quarrie High School on Sunday night.
“Last time PNP win this seat, a Damion give we it. This time it will be you – yeah man,” said party Leader Mark Golding as he endorsed Peterkin’s candidacy.
“Comrades, I don’t want anybody to have any doubt seh we can take back this seat,” he added.
Former Member of Parliament for the constituency, Damion Crawford, also took to the stage to endorse Peterkin’s candidacy describing him as ‘the best man’ for the job.
“From 1991, seventh grade Kingston College, me and this man a par. So, when I say I give you a man, I am giving you the best man I know to represent East Rural, St Andrew,” said Crawford.
Peterkin, a Waterhouse native, stated that as part of his commitment to the people of the constituency he would restart many of the programmes which were started under Comrade Crawford that have subsequently been stopped since the change of government in 2016.
