GIVING support to the Eros Trophy feature is an Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upwards, which is split into two sections going over 7½ furlongs (1,500m).

Below is the analysis of Division 1, which has attracted a field of nine runners.

1. MARQUESAS: (8 b h by Coded Warning – Islamorada) – Finished fourth behind Perfect Brew and Further and Beyond in the Alsafra Trophy at a mile (1,600m) on June 10. Marquesas is expected to put in another good effort against less competitive runners, with a place on the board his best option.

2. GREEN GOLD RUSH: ( 6 b h by Adore The Gold – Princess Lorna) – Upset rivals when winning a 6½-furlong (1,300m) event on July 9. Green Gold Rush has improved tremendously and so another winning run is not beyond him. He is without doubt one of the most improved horses in training at this time.

3. TEKAPUNT: (4 b g by Northern Giant – Just A Flutter) – Did well to reach this level. Tekapunt won a non-winners of four event on June 24 at 6½ furlongs. But while that win is encouraging, he cannot be considered to repeat in this one.

4. OUTBIDDER: (4 b f by Savoy Stomp – Rumble) – Was fourth behind Green Gold Rush on July 9, which doesn’t say well for the chances of Outbidder.

5. SIR JOHN: (5 b g by Natural Selection – Luscious) – Has no realistic chance of winning.

6. EL PROFESOR: (8 b g by Casual Trick – The Principal) – Shows up every now and then with encouraging runs but has been out of favour in recent times. El Professor, based on back class, can put these away but he has to perform at his best to have a winning shot.

7. BRINKS: (4 b g by Bern Identity – Indian Bluff) – Should have won already at this level. Brinks had been heavily favoured in his five runs but somehow did everything wrong. However, he has been training well for this race and has been given another opportunity.

8. D HEAD CORNERSTONE: (4 b c by Bern Identity – Soul Of The Heart) – Is going to be left behind.

9. RING CHARMER: (5 b m – Where’s The Ring – Charming Beauty) – Struggling to find form and that should be the same come tomorrow.
