Jahshii asks for ‘Protection’ in latest single
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Despite recent troubles, dancehall artiste Jahshii has seemingly decided to dust himself off and focus on redemption. Thus, in his latest single Protection, the entertainer reflects on his life experiences while acknowledging that the Creator has a higher purpose for him.
“I’ve been down this road before, but Jah protect me,” says Jahshii in the song, which also tackles fake friends, bad mind, and betrayal.
“Despite what I have been through in my life and the unfortunate situations that have occurred, I know that there is a true God and I look to him for guidance and protection,” he continued on the emotional single.speak from the heart and add pure emotions to the track. I am confident that this song will motivate the world to overcome and persevere,” he said.
Jashii, given name Mluleki Tafari Clarke, was wanted by police for questioning in relation to the death of a businessman in Grants Pen in June. He turned himself in to authorities and was interviewed and released. At the time, police believed that Jahshii could have information about the death of 45-year-old businessman Omar ‘Romie’ Wright.

On the heels of his release from police custody, a motor vehicle transporting the entertainer was attacked by armed men. Six men, all members of the artiste’s entourage, were shot and injured in the July 07 incident, while Jahshii emerged from the incident unscathed.
It was later revealed that the entertainer was returning home from his birthday celebrations when the shooting occurred.
Produced by Ajal, the track also features up-and-coming act Frassman Brilliant and is scheduled to be released today.
Frassman Brilliant told OBSERVER ONLINE that the song is relatable and says like Jashii, he has also been through some of the same experiences with hurt and pain.
“The inspiration behind the song is just the things that Jahshii is actually going through right now and I’ve been down that road before, so it was coming from life experience,” he said.
The song’s producer, Ajal, said it was a pleasure working with both Jashii and Frassman Brilliant. Dubbing both artistes as talented, Ajal said the single is bound to be a source of inspiration for all those who lend a listening ear.
“They’re both talented and have had similar life experiences, which allows them to Protection is the latest single from Producer Ajal, who recently teamed up with Demarco on the song Charge Fi Yuh and with Teejay on Faith.
