23-y-o man charged with 2022 murder of woman in Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica— A man has been charged with murder following the shooting death of a woman on Malvern Avenue in Kingston on Saturday August 20, 2022.
Charged with the murder of Sulaine Smith- who is of a Malvern Avenue address- is 23-year-old Roberto Green of Victoria Avenue in Kingston.
Reports are that about 10:40pm, Smith was among a group of people along the roadway playing games, when Green along with other armed men approached and opened gunfire on the group. When the shooting subsided, Smith was seen with gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Green, who has been in custody since February 23 for illegal possession of a firearm, was charged for Smith’s murder after he was pointed out during an identification parade on Friday, July 28.
His court date is being arranged.
