Reggae Boy Trivante Stewart says his best is yet to come at Salernitana unveiling

Jamaican striker Trivante Stewart has expressed “great feeling” after completing his transfer from local outfit Mount Pleasant Football Academy to Italian Serie A club U S Salernitana 1919, adding that the best of him is “yet to come”.

Stewart made the remarks after being unveiled by the club on Thursday.

“It is a very great feeling… something I work very hard for… I know the Serie A league is a very rough… I expect a lot… for me I know the best is yet to come!” he said at the presentation ceremony in Italy.

Stewart has signed a three-year contract with the club, the deal giving him the option to sign for an additional two years at the end of the initial contract.

The 23-year-old Stewart becomes the first Jamaica Premier League player to sign for a top-flight Italian football club after completing his medical and personal terms on Wednesday, stated a release from Mount Pleasant.

Stewart became a Mount Pleasant player midway the 2021-2022 JPL season in January. He was the second-highest goal scorer in the league in the 2022-2023 season with 18 goals.

He has three caps for the national senior team, having made his Reggae Boyz debut against Cameroon in Yaounde in 2022.

Mount Pleasant stated that it wishes Stewart more success on his career path and congratulates him on this major achievement.
