KFC pumps $15-m investment in ISSA schoolboy football season 2023

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Quick Service Food Giant Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ) through brand KFC has continued their ongoing partnership with ISSA schoolboy football through a $15 million investment in sponsorship of this upcoming season.

KFC’s sponsorship symbolises the company’s continued contribution to youth development through sports. The season’s launch will be hosted on August 23, at the National Stadium East.

“We are extremely excited to be back on board for what is sure to be another spectacular season of ISSA schoolboy football. We look forward to another season filled with drama, passion, and unforgettable moments on the football pitch. We are always eager to create opportunities for our athletic youths to develop, grow, and learn valuable traits that will benefit them both on and off the field and we look forward to seeing our players thrive – moving on from schoolboy football to even higher heights, possibly playing at the club level or even the national or international level”, said ROJ Brand Manager, Andrei Roper.

In a statement on Wednesday, KFC Jamaica said, for decades it has been a firm supporter of youth development through sports such as basketball, track and field, and of course, football.

The statement added that KFC holds the belief that the realm of sports presents exceptional prospects for youths to acquire wisdom, grow, and evolve, furnishing them with a stage to achieve their utmost potential through discipline, dedication, resolve, and teamwork.

The company has consistently looked forward to playing its part in discovering up-and-coming football talent that might rise to the top of the sport’s accomplishments.

“We encourage supporters of all the participating schools, and fans of football in general to come out and enjoy this upcoming schoolboy football season. In addition to ensuring that the best in schoolboy football action is on display, KFC Jamaica looks forward to creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for fans through marketing activations at the matches, through a top-quality television broadcast of the games as well as through the KFC Jamaica social media platforms”, added Roper.

Just this year, the company sponsored the Racers’ Grand Prix, Jamaica Basketball Association (JaBA) Star Search Basketball & Life Skills Camp and the Jump Ball Basketball Camp, and KFC brand ambassador Khadija Shaw the Reggae Girlz on their journey to the Women’s World Cup.
