FORMER Ben Francis Cup Knockout champions Edwin Allen High will kick off their Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association football season on Monday when they take on Claude McKay High in a Zone H game at Frankfield, Clarendon.

Kick-off is set to start at 3:30 pm.

Four games are down to be contested, with Kellits High and Thompson Town also meeting in Zone H while Iona High against Annotto Bay and St Mary High versus Wycliff Martin High are the two matches in Zone I.

Edwin Allen High are the only team playing today that progressed from the first round last season. They will hope to get off to a good start against Claude McKay High who missed last season after failing to score a point in the 2021 season.

Edwin Allen, who were quarter-finalists last season, are expected to challenge for one of two second-round spots from Zone H, along with defending champions Clarendon College who started the season on Saturday with a 5-0 spanking of Lennon High at National Stadium on Saturday.

At Crofts Hill Community Centre, Kellits High and Thompson Town will seek to start on a positive note.

Kellits High beat Thompson Town in their only meeting last year but both teams finished in the lower half of Zone H.

Iona High make their first appearance since the 2019 season when they lost all their first-round games while conceding 44 goals. Iona face Annotto Bay, who just failed to get out of their first round last season.

St Mary High beat Wycliffe Martin High twice last year and will hope to continue the trend when the teams meet this afternoon.
