A Fit Encounter

Love often finds its way in the most unexpected places, and for attorney-at-law Rebecca Staple and paediatrician Jason Mungalsingh, it was at the gym where their paths first crossed. Both dedicated fitness enthusiasts, their initial encounters were casual, nothing more than friendly nods. However, fate had bigger plans for them!

Their destinies became intertwined when Rebecca brought a relative to Jason’s workplace seeking medical assistance. Jason’s competence, combined with his warm personality, left a lasting impression on Rebecca. They exchanged contact information and began communicating, discovering a multitude of common interests and shared values. What started as a beautiful friendship soon blossomed into a romantic relationship.

As their love deepened, it became evident to everyone around them that they were meant to be together. In October 2022, Jason decided to make his intentions clear and proposed to Rebecca during a romantic candlelit dinner at a resort. With tears of joy, Rebecca accepted.

Their wedding day, which took place on April 29, 2023, was nothing short of magical. The couple chose a rustic chic theme, with a colour palette of sage, blush, and gold. Décor elements included tropical plants and greenery, illuminated by soft, glowing lights. The ceremony and reception both took place at the charming Good Hope Villas. Merrick Cousley was the man behind the lens who captured every memorable moment, while Damion Austin officiated the ceremony.

The bridal party included maid-of-honour Paula Sue Ferguson, and best man Dwayne Senior. The parents of the bride, Holly and Paul Staple, and the parents of the groom, Sherie and Stephen Mungalsingh, proudly witnessed the union of their children.

Rebecca was stunning in her custom-made lace dress, by Keneea Linton Designs (KLD). Her gown was complemented by a cathedral veil also by KLD. Her bouquet comprised of blush roses and white orchids, accented with lush tropical leaves. Jason and his best man Dwayne were dashing in tailored navy blue suits from Max Brown, with Jason wearing a sage bow tie to match the wedding colours.

The bridesmaids wore floor-length sage dresses with high slits and corset backings, exuding simplicity and chic elegance. Maid of honour Rebecca’s bridal bouquet featured blush roses, white orchids, and tropical leaves, creating a beautiful contrast.

Their carefully selected playlist, handled by DJ Narity, added to the romantic atmosphere. The processional featured A Thousand Years by Christina Perri for the bridesmaids and You Are The Reason by Calum Scott for the bride’s entrance. All of Me by John Legend was played during the ceremony, How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding during the signing of the register, and Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole for the recessional. The reception was filled with music as well, including Here and Now by Luther Vandross for the entrance of the wedding party, Marry You by Bruno Mars for the couple’s introduction, and Perfect by Ed Sheeran for their first dance.

The reception was catered by Chef Shakeir of Nourished Kitchen, with guests enjoying a sumptuous family-style dinner under the stars. The couple’s exquisite wedding cake was designed by Jo’s Cake Box and featured a delectable lemon flavour, adding a delightful citrus twist to their wedding reception.

For their honeymoon, Rebecca and Jason chose to keep the details private, in order to savour their special time together in secrecy.
