HOPEWELL, Hanover — Duanvale FC and Gray’s Inn SC took charge of their respective zones after wins in Saturday’s third round of matches in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Championships (formerly Tier II) play-offs.

Duanvale FC, the Trelawny FA champions, beat nine-man Sandy Bay United 3-0 to lead Group D while Gray’s Inn edged WiFi United 3-2 in Group B and assumed the lead.

At Orchard, Duanvale FC won for the second time as they beat Sandy Bay who had their starting goalkeeper, Hopeton Elliot, sent off in the first half and his back up, Randre Graham, also expelled in the second half.

Oshane Brown had given Duanvale the lead against Sandy Bay in the 17th minute before Elliot was sent off after picking up two quick yellow cards.

Kenroy Brown doubled their lead in the 41st minute and Onandi Rowe made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute before Graham was sent off in the 83rd minute after picking up his second yellow card.

Gray’s Inn ended WiFi FC’s winning start after Kevar Levy’s goal in time added broke a 2-2 tie.

WiFi FC came back from a goal down at half-time to lead 2-1 in the second half with a brace from Marlon Pennicooke, inside two minutes, before giving up two goals.

Rasheed Dennis scored in the 43rd minute to give Gray’s Inn the lead before Pennicooke scored in the 65th and 66th minutes to give WiFi FC the lead.

Jovan Brown brought Gray’s Inn back level when he scored in the 68th minute, before Levy got the winner in the first minute of time added.

Demar Amos’s 55th minute goal gave Marcus Garvey a 1-0 win over 10-man Seaforth SC, avenging their 2-1 loss in their first meeting.

Seaforth’s Rayvon Robinson was sent off in the 81st minute as both teams are tied on three points in Group A.

Cross United rebounded from their loss to Group C leaders St Bess United to beat Villa United 2-1 at home in Palmer’s Cross, Clarendon.

Aaron Weir in the 18th minute and Ashani Barrett in the 80th minute gave Cross United a 2-0 lead before Shamar Palmer got a goal back for Villa United in the 90th minute.

At Petersfield the home team gave up a 3-1 half-time lead as Reggae Youths rallied to earn a 3-3 draw in a game that saw both teams finish with 10 players.

Andre Smith of Petersfield and Chaddane Blagrove of Reggae Youths were sent off in the 80th minute.
