Stacy Bless teams with Diane Tanker for gospel album, ‘Broken Chain’
Sisters in Christ, Stacy Bless and Diane Tanker were raised in the Church of God at St John’s Road, Spanish Town. They share their lifelong love for the Word on Broken Chain, an album scheduled for release in October.
The 10-song set is produced by George “Brotha George” Wright, who is also the duo’s musical mentor. All are based in New York.
Stacy Bless, who began her recording career in early 2022, told OBSERVER ONLINE that she enjoyed the recording sessions with her longtime friend.
“For me, it was easier to bring out the songs the way I want it to. I get a bit nervous when I sing by myself,” she said.
Broken Chain marks the recording debut of Tanker, who described the process as “very exciting”. She credits Wright and the experience of keyboardists Sidney Mills and Andre “Dretegs” Hawthorne, and bassist Lebert “Gibby” Morrison, for making her maiden ‘voyage’ comfortable.
The title song will be the first release from Broken Chain, followed by Free At Last.
In 2022, Stacy Bless won Best New Artiste at the Love Gospel Awards in The Bronx, New York. She topped that category based on the popularity of Cross Over, a song produced by Brotha George.
